Last year we guided the Belgian broadcaster, Tom Waes, and a film crew around Northern Pakistan.
Tom hosts a popular travel series, called Reizen Waes, where he travels through lesser known destinations, which is where we came in.
We planned the trip and provided on the ground logistics for the TV presenter and his team into the stunning mountainous region – areas we visit on our annual group trips.
We started off in the city of Gilgit and drove a section of the jaw-dropping Karakoram Highway, as far as the Chinese border, at the 4700m high Khunjerab Pass.
On the way we stopped in Karimabad, the jaw-dropping Hunza Valley, Passu and we explored Attabad Lake by boat – along with venturing on via a dramatic drive to Shimshal.
The trip not only focused on immense scenery in Northern Pakistan, but Tom also met the rich tapestry of communities who make the area so special – including the climbers of Shimshall, tug of war wrestlers in Karimabad and the women of Hunza, who live to some of the oldest ages in the world. If you would like to visit these incredible sites, we run annual group trips through though the Hindu Kush and Karakoram ranges. Over 14-days we visit most of the sites Tom explored, along with crossing the Shandur Pass to Chitral. We also spend time in the Kalasha Valleys, home to pagan and animist tribes, before finishing in Peshawar.

Vorig jaar gidsten we de Belgische presentator Tom Waes en een filmploeg door Noord-Pakistan.
Tom presenteert een populaire reisserie, Reizen Waes, waarin hij minder bekende bestemmingen bezoekt. Daar kwamen wij in beeld.
We planden de reis en verzorgden de logistiek ter plaatse voor de tv-presentator en zijn team in het prachtige berggebied – gebieden die we bezoeken tijdens onze jaarlijkse groepsreizen.

De reis concentreerde zich niet alleen op het immense landschap van Noord-Pakistan, maar Tom ontmoette ook de rijke schakering aan gemeenschappen die het gebied zo bijzonder maken – waaronder de klimmers van Shimshall, touwtrekworstelaars in Karimabad en de vrouwen van Hunza, die tot de oudste ter wereld behoren.
