Join pioneering Afghan tour guide Fatima Haidari on a virtual tour of Afghanistan, taking a deeper look into her hometown of Herat. Now residing in Italy, Fatima hit the headlines in 2020 when she was recognised as the first female tour guide in Afghanistan.
Hosted by Untamed Borders, Fatima will give some background on Afghanistan and the country’s current situation before taking guests on a virtual tour of Herat, home to the best concentration of ancient buildings in Afghanistan. Starting at the Great Mosque, follow Fatima as she guides you through bustling bazaars and ancient shrines, as well as taking a look into the modern cultural side of Herat.
Tickets cost $60 which will be split between Fatima, a charity of Fatima’s choice (a woman’s education charity currently operating in Afghanistan) and Untamed Borders to cover the administration fee.
The next dates are 21st March 2023, 18th April 2023, 9th May 2023 and 6th June 2023, starting at 7pm UK time and lasting around 1 hour. Once booked, you will receive an email explaining how to join the virtual tour a few days prior.
